The Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke has marks a significant milestone as he celebrates his 64th birthday.
In a grand ceremony, he was installed as the Asiwaju of Ede Land by the Timi of Ede, Oba (Dr) Munirudeen Adesola Lawal.
The event, which took place at the Timi’s Palace Square, Oja Timi, Ede, was attended by dignitaries from across the country, including traditional rulers, politicians, and business leaders.
The Arole Oodua and Chairman, Osun Council of Obas, Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi Ojaja (II), was the Royal Guest of Honour. Other notable guests included the Governor of Oyo State, Engineer Seyi Makinde, and the Chairman/CEO, Pacific Holdings Ltd and President, Adeleke University, Ede, Dr Adedeji Adeleke.
In his address, the Chairman of the Central Planning Committee, Senator (Akogun) Kamorudeen Olalere Oyewumi, PhD, praised Senator Adeleke for his contributions to the growth and development of Ede Land, Osun State, and Nigeria as a whole. He noted that the conferment of the title on Senator Adeleke was in recognition of his selfless service to the people and his commitment to the progress of the state. He highlighted Senator Adeleke’s achievements, including his role in the development of the state’s education sector and his efforts to improve the lives of the people.
The Timi of Ede, Oba (Dr) Munirudeen Adesola Lawal, also praised Senator Adeleke for his achievements and his dedication to the welfare of the people. He urged him to continue his good work and to use his position to promote the unity and progress of Ede Land and Osun State.
Senator Adeleke, in his response, thanked the Timi of Ede and the people of Ede Land for the honor bestowed on him. He promised to continue working for the progress and development of the state and to use his position to promote the welfare of the people. He also expressed his gratitude to his family, friends, and well-wishers who had supported him throughout his journey.
The installation ceremony was followed by a grand reception, where guests were entertained with traditional music and dance. The event was a fitting tribute to Senator Adeleke’s achievements and a celebration of his 64th birthday.

The event also featured the launch of a multi-million naira appeal fund for the construction of an ultra-modern palace for the Timi of Ede land. The Chief launcher was Africa’s richest man, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, who donated a substantial amount to the fund. The Co-launcher was Chief (Mrs) Victoria Adunola Samson (Mama Bovas), who also made a significant contribution.
