The Oluwo of Iwoland, Arole Olodumare Adewale Akanbi Telu 1, has given a condition to worshipers of deities, idols, and Ifa, stating that they should not relate their religion to Yoruba culture and traditions.
He urged them to worship freely but avoid associating their beliefs with the cultural heritage of the Yoruba people.
Oluwo while speaking at the crowd gathered before him at his palace on Thursday, urged traditional worshipers to practice their beliefs with the cultural heritage of the Yoruba people.
According to him, ” I have a message for all of you who worship deities, idols, and Ifa,” he began. “You are free to practice your beliefs, but I implore you to keep them separate from our beloved Yoruba culture and traditions.
“Our culture is rich and beautiful, and it is not tied to any particular religion. I want to emphasize that our traditions and customs are for all Yoruba people, regardless of their beliefs. Let us keep our cultural heritage pure and untainted by religious affiliations.”
