Osun Set To Hold 2023/2024 Annual School/Students Census

All is set for the 2023/2024 annual Schools and Students census which will be held for one week in both public and private schools across the State.
The Census is being put together by the  Federal Ministry Of Education, Universal Basic Education Commission in collaboration with
Osun State Ministry Of Education and Universal Basic Education Board.
The exercise has been preceded with a sensitization of Education Stakeholders meeting at a one day training workshop for selected participants who will embark on data capturing exercise.
The exercise is an effort of the Federal Government and government of Osun State at ensuring accurate number of school children and to help in the scheme of delivering quality educational to school learners and curb out school children in the society.
It will help the federal government and other international partners to identify challenges and improve on provision of adequate and quality educational services to schools across the state and the nation as whole.
In their separate keynote addresses at the Stakeholders meeting, the Permanent Secretary Ministry Of Education, Mr Muritala Jimoh and the Executive Secretary, Osun SUBEB, Mr Yahaya Bakare commended UBEC and Governor Ademola Adeleke led administration on it’s unrelenting efforts at ensuring that efficiency is entrenched in the State education system.
They implored the participants to ensure a reliable, accurate verifiable and functional data capturing exercise so as to achieve the desired goals and objectives of the executive.
In their separate good will messages, the Osun State Statistician General, Mr Abiodun Ijidele, the Osun State National Population Commission Officer Mr Gbenga Osungbohun, the Education sector manager, Ministry of Economic Planning and Budget Development, Mr Obaloluwa Babatola, the ANCOPPSS President, Mrs Esther Awoyemi, the NAPPS Chairman, Mr Loveday Ekwubiri, the AMIS Chairman, Imams Jamiu Oyeleye, the representative of APPS Chairman, Mrs Sidikat Adewale, UBEC Osun State Accountant, Mrs Toyin Adesoji and representative of ZIEs, Mr Idowu Jokotola applauded the organizers of the Education Stakeholders meeting while promising their unwavering support to having a reliable , accurate and robust data capturing exercise because of the numerous gains that the State stand to benefit.
Earlier in his welcome address, the Osun SUBEB, Director Planning Research and Statistics, Mr Dauda Adeyemi, appreciated the Federal government and Osun government through the leadership of Ministry of Education and Osun SUBEB for providing enabling environment and other logistics in carrying out the laudable annual School Census data capturing exercise.
