The federal government has recently brought back a total of 190 Nigerians from the United Arab Emirates (UAE), as confirmed in a press release from the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA).

The statement signed and issued on Tuesday by NEMA Director General (Director of the North Central Zone), Bashir Garga, stated that these Nigerians landed at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja at 5:57 AM on Tuesday and were welcomed by a joint team of government officials, including those from NEMA.

NEMA has confirmed that these Nigerians have been thoroughly checked and documented by the appropriate authorities and have been educated on the significance of behaving with respect and responsibility when they return to Nigeria.
The agency also urged Nigerians abroad to act as exemplary ambassadors of their country wherever they find themselves.

The statement reads, “The Federal Government has repatriated One Hundred and Ninety (190) Nigerians from the United Arab Emirates. The returnees were received at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja at 05:57 by a combined team of government officials led by the National Emergency Management Agency.
“The returnees were profiled and documented by the relevant agencies and sensitized to behave with decorum and responsibility on their return to Nigeria.
“The federal government urges all Nigerians, wherever they may be, to act as exemplary ambassadors of their country, upholding the fundamental values of patriotism, rule of law, decency and integrity.”

ADULAWO NEWS recall that the federal government had in October of the previous year repatriated a total of 542 from UAE.
