The five-time World Player of the Year, Cristiano Ronaldo, has officially launched his own YouTube channel, titled “UR. Cristiano.”
The channel achieved an incredible milestone, gaining over 1 million subscribers within the first hour of its launch on Wednesday, setting a new world record.
Ronaldo, who is widely regarded as one of the greatest footballers of all time, boasts a massive following of over 917 million followers across various social media platforms. Currently the captain of both Al Nassr in Saudi Arabia and the Portuguese national team, Ronaldo’s influence extends far beyond the football pitch.
The “UR. Cristiano” channel is positioned to compete with American YouTube sensation MrBeast, who holds the record for the most-subscribed YouTube channel with 311 million subscribers as of August 2024.
Ronaldo’s channel debuted with 17 new videos and, according to the launch announcement, will delve into his “greatest passion”—football—along with other personal interests such as family, wellness, nutrition, preparation, recovery, education, and business.
Fans can also expect to see Ronaldo engaging in conversations with various guests, offering a deeper insight into the life of the legendary footballer.
The 39-year-old Ronaldo has scored over 890 official senior career goals for both club and country, making him the all-time leading goalscorer. His illustrious career, which spans over two decades, includes stints at Manchester United, Real Madrid, Sporting Lisbon, and Juventus.
Ronaldo said, “I am very happy to make this project come to life. It has been in my mind for a long time but finally we have the opportunity to make it real.
“I have always enjoyed having such a strong relationship with fans on social media and my YouTube channel will give me an even bigger platform to do so and they will learn more about me, my family, and my views on many different subjects. I am also looking forward to sharing conversations with guests that will no doubt surprise people!”
Ronaldo’s remarkable career includes numerous accolades and achievements. He has won 33 trophies, five UEFA Champions League titles, five Ballon d’Or awards, and a record three UEFA Men’s Player of the Year Awards.
Additionally, he holds the record for the most appearances, goals, and assists in both the Champions League and European Championship, as well as the most international goals and appearances.
