The Oluwo of Iwoland, Oba Abdulrosheed Akanbi, has called on Nigerians not to blame President Bola Tinubu for the country’s economic hardship, but instead seek divine intervention.

ADULAWO NEWS reports that Oluwo emphasized the importance of seeking forgiveness and wisdom from God to tackle the economic challenges facing the nation.

According to Oba Akanbi, Nigeria’s abundant mineral resources could be sufficient for prosperity if utilized wisely with divine guidance.

Oluwo made the remarks during the fourth annual “Odun Olodunmare” celebration, which aims to promote worship and gratitude to God.

He noted that economic hardships are not unique to the current administration, citing previous governments since President Shehu Shagari’s era that faced similar challenges.

“When situations are as tough as this, we should encourage everyone to return to God, as I am doing today.

“If there are any transgressions of ingratitude towards God, He can forgive us. We need God’s intervention, and we all must turn back to this one God, who can grant us the wisdom to lift these burdens from our shoulders.”

“If we are not ungrateful and share in the only request God has of us, then the creator of the world, who has entrusted these resources to us, will teach us how to utilise them without foreign intervention,” he stated.

“It’s not only today that the economy has been difficult. Every government since independence has faced economic hardship. During the Jonathan and Buhari administrations, people complained, and after Tinubu’s administration, people will still complain,” he stated.

Oba Akanbi highlighted the significance of this event, stating that it fosters unity among people of different faiths, including Muslims and Christians, to worship God without idolization.

“Nobody deserves worship except God, and we cannot share this with anyone. Today is about culture and tradition, and that’s why you can see both Muslims and Christians here, worshipping God without any deity involved,” the traditional ruler explained.
