Aare Musulumi of Iwoland, Barr. Jire Ayinla has resigned as the President of the Iwo Action Council (IWAC).
He attributed his resignation to the need to protect his hard earned integrity sensing the imminent hijack and usage of the council platform to fight personal battle by undermining the principles and values of IWAC.
Aare Jire affirmed his technical exclusion from decisions made in his name as the president of the council which is outrightly contrary to the constitution of the union. He explained the hijack has led to a breakdown in the effective functioning of the council and feared if left unchecked, it will ultimately undermine the credibility and relevance of IWAC.
He stated the actions of the hijackers is a total disregard for the constitution governing the council and tantamount to cause further harm to his personal image.
Jire acknowledged and appreciated men of honour who stood by the truth during his tenure.
A letter of voluntary resignation released by Aare Jire Ayinla and obtained by our correspondents reads :
“Dear distinguished members of IWAC.
I am writing to bring to your attention a pressing matter that affects the integrity and well-being of my esteemed person..
Regrettably, I am compelled to inform you that IWAC has been hijacked by a few individuals who have taken it upon themselves to undermine the principles and values that our organization holds dear”
“As the duly elected President of IWAC, I have worked tirelessly over the years to promote the unity and interests of our community and uphold the objectives of the Council.
My selfless service and dedication to the council have been evident in the numerous initiatives we have spearheaded, which have positively impacted the lives of our members and the community at large. Most importantly, we have been able to bring in unity, love and solidarity with more clubs joining our ranks.
However, despite my unwavering commitment to the council, I have been systematically marginalized and excluded from the decision-making process by these individuals.
They have taken control of the council’s affairs, disregarding the constitution that governs our organization”
“This hijack has led to a breakdown in the effective functioning of the council, and I fear that if left unchecked, it will ultimately undermine the credibility and relevance of IWAC”
“I am deeply saddened by this turn of events, not only because of the harm it causes to our organization but also because of the disregard for my selfless service and dedication to the council”
“I have made countless sacrifices, investing my time, resources, and energy to ensure the growth and success of IWAC within the limit of what it has pleased almighty Allah to bless me with”
“The lack of recognition and appreciation of my efforts is disheartening, to say the least.
Those individuals never see anything that we did right, they always want to scout for negative things about us”
.
“I will want to take you to pages of history about my journey into IWAC.
It started with an award given to me in 2015 by IWAC in recognition of what they termed my contributions to humanity. The award was earned and not bought.
It was immediately after the award in 2018 to be precise, that the decision to make me the President of IWAC was made”
.
“My club, REPRO CLUB was though a member of IWAC, as an individual, I was never attending any of the meetings of IWAC.
But despite that fact, I was made the President unopposed.
I accepted my appointment and I never took the love members had for me for granted.
I regarded it as an honour and a call to service, and was prepared to serve the Council within my capacity. Members knew I was not Iwo based before I was chosen.
They were also aware that I was a man of many parts before I was selected”
I was the President of Iwo Indigenes in the Public Service of Osun.
I was the President of the Osun Forum of Accountants.
I was and I am still the President of Osun Public Service Muslim Ummah.
I was and I am still the President of Repro Club, Iwo.
I was then Assistant Secretary General of IBOT and now the Secretary General.
I am a member of Iwo Progressive Group (IPG),
A member of Iwo Solidarity Stars,
I’m the Aare Muslim of Iwoland, where we also have meetings and engagements of all Islamic title holders.
“I have been playing my role in the above listed bodies regularly and continue to serve without any blemish. Attendance in those bodies has never been an issue. We hold most of the meetings online despite the fact that the frequency of their meetings is not monthly like that of IWAC. IWAC still remains analogue in everything in this digital age. Every attempt to change the status quo has always been resisted”
“Every statement is twisted. Every good gesture is given a different meaning. They take every opportunity to malign and attack my personality. They want to destroy me and everything that I stand for. They want to bring me into disrepute and public odium for a job for which no pay is attached.”
“These few individuals regard themselves as the authority and the headmaster of the body. Nobody knows what feeds their ego. They believe they can make an unmake the King. They are always playing gods.
At the age of 67, I don’t think I can allow myself to be tossed around by anyone.
The simple Principle of Management is “getting things done through people.”
Once you have a team of knowledgeable and patriotic individuals, whose dedication is beyond the call to duty and are Iwo based, you can be very successful as a leader.
But the headmaster will not want to hear anything like that”
“They hold IWAC in the jugular and they are like what we called “Life Benchers” in legal parlance. They are very arrogant with malicious conduct. Their ego is taller than the tallest building in the world. They are completely undiplomatic”
.
“I was warned that this set of individuals would look up to stand against me when I was elected or selected as the President. But I thought that with the help of almighty Allah and the unceasing love and uncommon affection of the majority, I would succeed.”
” And to God be the glory, despite the obvious obstacles placed on our paths, we have been able to surprise all those who thought our reign would be the extension of their terms in office.
We have been able to govern IWAC quietly and reasonably without tension or dramas.
In the light of the above highlighted points, I am constrained to voluntarily tender my resignation as the president of IWAC , so that like Alexandra the great, I will be free at last .
I have forgiven those who never saw anything good in us . But I want to be very careful with them, because my continued stay which gives them headaches may be fatal.”
“I may not be spared by them again.
Afterwards we have been warned that if we look at the people in our circle and we don’t get inspired, then we don’t have a circle but a CAGE. I have been in the cage for more than six years, I am tired of being under unnecessary and undeserved bondage. I want to be free at last”
“I appreciate the love and affectionate support of the majority of members who did not only identify some qualities in me that they believed I possess that qualified me for the position of IWAC President but also stood by me during the currency of my tenure. I cannot thank you enough.
I urge you to work to free IWAC from the present bondage into which it has been put before it is too late.
Thank you and God bless”
Sincerely yours,
‘Jiire Ayinla esq,
Outgoing IWAC President.
