Two outstanding women in Osun State, Mrs. Funmi Abokede and CSP Yemisi Opalola, have been honored by by the Osun Online Publishers Association (OOPA), with the Osun Women of Virtue Award for 2024.
Osun Online Publishers, recognizes their exceptional contributions to the development of the state and its people.
Mrs. Abokede, General Manager of the Osun Community and Social Development Agency (CSDA), was presented with the Award of Excellence by the Olowu of Kuta, Oba Adekunle Makama Oyelude, Tegbosun lll. CSP Opalola, Osun Police Command’s Spokesperson, received her award from Mrs. Funmi Abokede.
The awards were presented during a public lecture and award presentation held in Osogbo, as part of the Osun Digital Media Week. The public lecture, titled “The Impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) on Digital Media in the 21st Century,” provided valuable insights into the transformative impact of AI on the digital media landscape.
While Speaking to the audience, Mrs. Abokede appreciated the organizers of the award and highlighted the impactful work of the CSDA across Osun State, particularly at the grassroots and among people living with disabilities.
She also charged the Osun Online Publishers Association to uphold professionalism and credibility in their work.
On her part, CSP Opalola, on the other hand, commended the leadership and members of the Osun Online Publishers Association for their balanced reportage and assured that her office would continue to work with the media, even after her tenure as Police Spokesperson.
