The ancient town of Ede in Osun State is set to celebrate a major milestone in the life of its monarch, the Timi of Edeland, Oba Dr. Munirudeen Adesola Lawal Laminisa 1, as he marks his 70th birthday.
ADULAWO NEWS report that to commemorate this platinum royal birthday, the town has rolled out a series of activities, including an interfaith prayer, health talk, visitation to an orphanage, honorary chieftaincy award, and a grand finale.
According to the organizers, the events are aimed at celebrating the life and legacy of the Timi, who has been a strong advocate of good governance and has facilitated numerous developmental projects in Ede and beyond.
The activities, which kick off on February 7th, will feature prominent dignitaries from across the state and beyond, and are expected to showcase the rich cultural heritage of Ede.
Addressing the news men at Timi palace in Ede on Friday, High Chief Engr Lateef Olatunji Lawal, Babasanya of Ede, the events include an interfaith prayer on February 12th, a health talk and visitation to an orphanage on February 13th, an honorary chieftaincy award on February 14th, and a grand finale on February 15th.
According to him, “Oba Dr. Munirudeen Adesola Lawal Laminisa 1, a strong advocate of good governance, has facilitated numerous developmental projects in Ede and beyond.
