This development follows a letter written by family members of the victims to the National Security Adviser (NSA), Maj.-Gen. Mohammed Monguno (rtd), over the continued detention of their loved ones in captivity.

The family members in the letter dated 25 April, said the federal government has failed to brief them regarding efforts to rescue their loved ones from the gunmen.
