2023: Oyo APC Launches ‘Operation Seyi Must Go’

The Opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo state has launched what is called ‘Operation Seyi Must Go”.

Speakers at the official declaration of an ex-deputy governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Chief Adebayo Adelabu, for the 2023 governorship election, said the current administration in Oyo State, led by Governor Seyi Makinde, has failed to lift state and let the people down.

While addressing the mammoth crowd that thronged the old APC Secretariat in Oke Ado, Ibadan, the governorship hopeful, Adelabu, said APC will take over from the administration of the state in 2023.

According to Adelabu, the Makinde administration has failed on security, agriculture, environment, health and employment.

He said: “The mistakes of 2019 would be corrected in 2023. APC will take over from Makinde in 2023.

“I talked about Moniya-Iseyin road, they claimed I said Oke Ogun doesn’t deserve the road. That’s a lie.

“What I said was the Moniya-Iseyin road should have been dualised. Makinde is cheating Oke Ogun, but we will take care of Oke Ogun when we take power in 2023.

“Makinde has failed on security. Many people have been killed since they came into office in 2019. Hooligans have taken over Oyo State, we are being ruled by thugs.

“People following the governor killed policemen during #EndSARS. Which government gives money to thugs? “The police stations burnt during #EndSARS have not been rehabiliated till date.

“But we’ll correct all that when we take over in 2023.”

Adelabu, who noted that there wad no internal wrangling within the state chapter of the party, expressed confidence that he will fly the APC ticket in 2023.

Speaking, the immediate past deputy governor of Oyo State, Chief Moses Adeyemo, said the current administration has not manage the money and resources of the state well.

“Adelabu has worked at First Bank and CBN, he understands and knows everything he needs to know in the management of money and resources. I’m sure he will manage Oyo State well,” Adeyemo said.

He urged the delegates to cast their votes for Adelabu at the party’s governorship primary next week.
