Discoursing at a roundtable discussion on Osun’s debt profile and how realistic the actualization of the electoral promises of Engr. Busuyi Ayowole who is the Governorship candidate of the People’s Redemption Party (PRP) with a critical study of his eight-point agenda which are as follows

Comrade Olowu Emmanuel who is the running mate of the governorship Candidate, stated as follows it is a known fact that Osun has a very huge debt profile which is clear to all the citizens of the state and all individuals contesting in the forthcoming 16th of July 2022 Election
He reminded the participants at the event that, The previous administration led by Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola under the platform of the All Progressive Congress (APC) took the state to the level of this indebtedness in its bid to transform the state but it fail to realize that beautification without a vision in the area of massive Industrialization will not grow the economy of the state.
He further stated that at the time Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola handover office to the present administration on the 27th of November 2018 the debt profile of the state was N170.6bn made up of N141.1bn domestic debt and N29.5bn multilateral (external) debt
He, therefore, acknowledges the Openness of the past administration on the loan he took and its Open justification of how the loan was utilized.
He further expressed his dissatisfaction, with the administration of Alh. Isiaka Gboyega Oyetola and his act of secretiveness and an expression of running a government like a personnel business venture negate the principle of a democratic process, as at today Oyetola and this administration have not been able to give clear information on the status of the Loan of State concerning what has been repaid, what is the balance of the Loan and what is the life span of each of the loans.
In the avoidance of such secretive acts in Governance, we shall immediately enhance the domestication of the Freedom of Information Act in the State, and work with all civil society organizations in the state to help disseminate to the public the importance of the bill and how to put it to use.
Osun State is rated as a poor or Civil Servant state because it is measured by its earnings from the Federal Allocation and Internal Generated Revenue (IGR) and not by the level of its natural resources ours is to change the narrative by opening up all God-given resources in a way that Job will be Created in an Unprecedented way, for over Five Million (5,000,000) dwellers of the state
Conclusively, to us, we have the understanding, that no government should be rated poor, but those governing a given society can be mentally or intellectually poor.
We have that conviction that government cannot run into liquidation
