Nigerian Army Urges Ibadan Residents Not To Panic, Over Shooting Exercise

 

The Nigerian Army, 2 Division Headquarters, Adekunle Fajuyi Cantonment Ojoo Ibadan have informed residents around the area not to panic when they hear gunshots as of Monday.

This was contained in a statement signed by acting Deputy Director of Army Public Relations, Lieutenant Colonel Charles Ekeocha

According to the Nigerian Army Forecast of Events 2022, the 2022 Annual Range Classification Exercise will be held at the Major General OF Akintayo Shooting Range.

According to the statement, shooting will be a part of the annual range classification exercise, which is scheduled for August 1st to 5th 2022; as a result, people should go about their regular lives without harboring any fears.

The statement says the exercise aims to improve already taught practical gun handling courses, evaluate marksmanship abilities, and test and review troop weapon handling ability.

The notification goes on to say that the residents of the Adekunle Fajuyi Cantonment in Ibadan are therefore warned not to flee if they hear gunfire during that time.

Most importantly, the notification continues, farmers in the area should stay away from the Range Area throughout the shooting practice.
