The Lagos State Police Command have arraigned a man named Wahab Affez before a Chief Magistrate’s court sitting in Ogba for allegedly stealing a mobile phone valued at N120,000 in a police station in Lagos State.
The incident occurred when the accused went to negotiate the bail of his friend allegedly being detained at Bolade Police station, Lagos.
The police prosecutor, Rachael Williams said the accused gained entry into the office where the phone was lying on a table.
Although, the 45-year-old accused man denied having anything to do with the theft of the phone, the police still went ahead to arraign him on a two-count charge of stealing and unlawful entry into an office.
Williams said the discovery of the theft of the phone threw officers on duty into instant confusion, prompting the Divisional Police Officer to order for immediate investigation.

Akingbesote, granted the accused bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in the same sum.
The case was adjourned for mention, while the accused was remanded in a custodial centre, in Kirikiri town.
