Kids Set Abaze By Grandma Survived – Ondo Police

The Ondo State Police Command has revealed that the two children of a couple allegedly set ablaze alongside by their grandmother, simply identified as Iforiti, are still alive.

At Aponmu community in the state’s Akure South Local Government Area on Sunday, the 75-year-old mother allegedly lit her son Victor, his wife Rachael, and the couple’s two children on fire.

The victims were said to have been asleep when the grandma allegedly committed the act at around 2am in the morning.

During questioning, the woman allegedly claimed that the victims had starved her, according to a source.

According to a report, all the victims passed away at the Federal Medical Centre in Owo after being transported there for care.

Although the couple passed away, their children lived, according to the state police public relations officer, Ms. Funmilayo Odunlami.

She added that the 75-year-old suspect was also injured in the inferno.

The PPRO said, “The first thing is to treat her (suspect) because she was affected by the inferno too. The two kids are safe and responding to treatment.”
