The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has pledged to preserve vital infrastructure, including oil pipelines, telephone lines, electrical power plants, railroads, roadways, and educational facilities, among others.
According to a statement released on Sunday by Olusola Odumosu, Director of Public Relations, NSCDC National Headquarters, Abuja, the corps expressed its displeasure over the mistreatment of electrical employees in River State.
Recall that at Rumuola in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, some officers of the corps’ River State command are accused of harassing and molestation of some employees of the Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company (PHED).
Reacting in a statement, on Sunday, the corps expressed displeasure over the incident and ordered a full scale investigation to determine the truth or otherwise of the complaint by the PHED.
According to him, at the end of the investigation, appropriate disciplinary action would be taken against the officers involved.
