Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has approved that the First Technical University be renamed after the late Senator Abiola Ajimobi, the former Governor of Oyo State.
Governor Makinde, who stated this at the second Convocation Ceremony of the First Technical University, did this in honour of the contributions of the former governor to the establishment of the Technical University of Oyo State.
In the meantime, the First Technical University is the Nigeria’s Premier Technical University, grounded in entrepreneurial practices, innovations and sustainability.
The university was established by the Oyo State Government to bridge the skill gap between competences of university graduates and industry requirements through a blend of theory, practical and hands-on experiences.
