Nigeria Stands United Against Forces Of Terror – Buhari Reacts To Killing In Benue

President Muhammadu Buhari has denounced the recent killing spree in Benue State, in which tens of people were slaughtered in the Umogidi town of Entekpa-Adoka in the state’s Otukpo Local Government Area, and he has urged all measures to be made to put an end to the “extreme violence.”

In a statement released on Saturday by Garba Shehu, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Buhari denounced the use of terrorism as a weapon in intercommunal disputes and urged that those responsible be speedily identified and brought to justice.

The secret services, police, and military commanders were ordered to increase surveillance on all fronts and quickly evaluate the security management in the impacted areas. He also expressed his sorrow and compassion to the families of those who lost their lives as a result of the incident.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of those murdered. The entire nation stands united in the fight against the forces of terror and evil,” said the President.
