The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced that it will soon unveil the cut-off mark for admission into universities, polytechnics, and other tertiary institutions for the 2023 academic year. The eagerly anticipated decision will be made at a special event hosted at the National Judicial Institute.

The event will be attended by prominent figures from various tertiary institutions and regulatory bodies, including the National Universities Commission, the National Board for Technical Education, and the National Commission for Colleges of Education. This gathering aims to address crucial issues pertaining to the education sector, such as the performance of candidates, application statistics, and the evaluation of the 2023 admission exercise. Dr. Fabian Benjamin, the Director of Public Affairs at JAMB, highlighted that the meeting will also play a pivotal role in charting policy directions for the nation’s tertiary institutions and establishing admission guidelines.

To ensure effective deliberations, only two representatives from each tertiary institution will be permitted to attend. These representatives will include the Head of the Institution and an official nominated by the Head.

In addition to determining the cut-off mark, the meeting will also finalize the minimum admissible score for all tertiary institution admissions in Nigeria. This decision holds significant weight as it will shape the future academic landscape for thousands of prospective students seeking admission into higher institutions.

The education community and aspiring students across the country eagerly await the outcome of this crucial meeting, which will serve as a benchmark for the admission process in the 2023 academic session.
