Clash between the Western Nigeria Security Network (WNSN), known as Amotekun, and the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) unfolded today, culminating in a fierce gun duel.
The altercation commenced around 10:45 am in front of the Osun Government House Annex, Oke-Fia, Osogbo, between an Amotekun operative and an NIS officer, according to sources.
Eyewitnesses revealed that the confrontation quickly escalated, leading to sporadic shooting and creating an atmosphere of palpable tension in the area. Startled residents sought refuge as the sound of gunshots reverberated through the air, prompting business owners in the vicinity to hastily close their shops. The fear of an escalating gunfight gripped the area, prompting a temporary shutdown of local businesses.

Upon arrival at the scene, Adulawonews observed that shops in the area remained closed, reflecting the prevailing fear of a protracted confrontation. Inside the premises of the Government House annex, patrol vans belonging to both the NIS and Amotekun were stationed, signaling a significant security presence. It was further gathered that the leadership of both agencies had convened a meeting in an attempt to resolve the unfolding crisis.
