The Paramount Ruler of Iwoland HIM, Oba Abdulrosheed Adewale Akanbi, has charged the federal government of Nigeria under the leadership of President Ahmed Tinubu,to invest in sports development to decimate insecurity and checkmate ethnic disunity in Nigeria.
Oluwo said engaging the youth in sports activities will distance the youth from social vices that could trigger insecurity and tribal disunity in Nigeria. He noted youth are the agents of kidnapping and banditry ravaging the country, nothing soccer as the best alternative to engage able youth.
Oluwo made the admonition today While addressing pressmen at the final match of Oluwo football competition organized to mark the 8th Coronation Anniversary of the King.

According to him “Sports development most especially soccer is an instrument of peaceful co-existence that could be used to checkmate disunity and equally decimate insecurity. I charge President Ahmed Tinubu to invest heavily in sports activities through the ministry of youth and sports. I’ve strong hope that such effort will arrest many youths from the street of uselessness to the community of usefulness ”
“Interestingly, sports is becoming so lucrative not only to the players but also its auxiliary actors. No investment in football is a waste. Nigeria has many football talents that could be hunted locally. Such commitment will reduce social vices and present a better conducive environment for survival ”
