Oyo Govt Suspends Student For Assaulting Corps Member

A Secondary school student in Oyo state identified as Ojo Roqeeb was on Tuesday suspended over assault of a Corps member.

The Honourable Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Barrister Rahman Abiodun Abdu- Raheem who frowned at a reported case of a SSS 2 student of Anglican Commercial Secondary School, Orita-Mefa Ibadan ordered an immediate one month suspension for the student.

The Commissioner, who visited the school also ordered that a letter of suspension be given to his parents, saying the student, on return will have to apologize to the corps member and sign an undertaking.

While addressing the students, the Commissioner charged them to be of good behaviour, reiterating that Oyo State government will not condone any act of indiscipline.

He sternly warned that any student caught, acting in uncivilized manner, will henceforth be dismissed from schools in Oyo State.

Barrister Abdu-Raheem also charged teachers to be more dedicated and punctual at work.
