FRSC Warns Officers Against Stopping Speeding Vehicles

 

The Operatives of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has been cautioned against jumping on roads to stop moving vehicles while performing their duty.

The commander of Ore Unit, Sikiru Alonge on Wednesday said that, “an operatives must not use his/her body to wedge speeding vehicles”, noting that many operatives had been killed doing that”

“Rather use their phones or jotters to snap or write down the erring motorist number plates for proper arrest later,” he advised.

Mr Alonge further stated that operatives must always imbibe professionalism and safety in the discharge of their duty, adding that the corps high command did notbtrain them to enforce the law forcefully on erring motorists.

According to him, most drivers plying the Benin-Ore Expressway flout traffic rules and avoid FRSC routine checks.

“Operatives must always ensure safety at all times in order not to record casualties and loss of lives occasioned by accidents,’’ Mr Alonge said.

The FRSC commander warned motorists plying the Ore-Benin expressway always to obey all traffic rules and regulations as the law would catch up with any erring motorist.
