Oyo State Government has ordered the immediate closure of Oke Ogun College of Management Sciences and Technology, in Iseyin.

The Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Barrister Abiodun Abdu-Raheem, who have the order on Tuesday, said the institution was shut down for non-compliance with registration procedures.

It was earlier reported that some indigenes of the town, under the auspices of ‘Ebedi Frontliner,’ had petitioned the Oyo State Government; Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu; and the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), alleging that the institution was neither registered nor accredited for students’ enrolment.

Abdu-Raheem, while sealing off the college urged proprietors to always do the needful in their quest to establish schools.

He said this will prevent unnecessary embarrassment for both the state and the proprietors.

The commissioner had in February invited and directed the Proprietor of the College, Mr. Adewale Owoseni, to remove all billboards with the inscriptions of the school until the registration process has been perfected.

Abdu-Raheem affirmed the government’s commitment to ensure due process is followed in all affairs involving the state.
