An Ojo Magistrates’ Court in Lagos has summoned a couple identified as Daniel Idoko and Rose Idoko for allegedly stealing N2.2 million from a neighbour.
The defendants, aged 35 and 32, were arraigned before the Magistrate, Ademola Adesanya. They, however, pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Simeon Uche, told the court that the couple committed the offence in December 2021.
He alleged that the defendants stole from the complainant, also.named Rose Idoko, with whom they shared accommodation on Jazz Ave., Iba Town, Ojo.
According to the prosecutor, Daniel stole N560,000 from the complainant while Rose stole N1.68 million, in contravention of Section 9(b) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The magistrate granted the defendants bail in the sum of N500,000 each, with two sureties each in like sum, and adjourned the case until May 13 for mention.
