NDLEA Apprehend Two Pregnant Women For Drug Trafficking In Lagos

National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have apprehended two pregnant women for attempting to export illicit drugs.

Operatives attached to NDLEA had last week Wednesday in the SAHCO export shed of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) in Lagos seized some cartons of alcoholic drinks suspected to contain illicit drugs.

One Shola Ogunrinde, a freight agent who brought the goods for export to Dubai was detained.

A follow-up investigation led to the arrest of one Seun Babatunde, who is the owner of an alcohol joint in the Pleasure area of Iyana Ipaja.

Seven parcels of cannabis and a sachet of ecstasy drug (MDMA) were found concealed inside cans of Black Bullet alcoholic drinks.

Babatunde stated that she was sending the drugs to her husband who resides in Dubai.

The second pregnant woman, Mrs Gloria Asibor was arrested last Thursday while attempting to board a Turkish Airline flight to Bolonia, Spain via Istanbul, Turkey.

When her luggage was searched, it was discovered that she concealed 300 tablets of 200mg and 225mg high dosage Tramadol inside the crayfish.
