On Tuesday, a section of the multi-billion-naira Blue Rail Mass Transportation project in Marina, Lagos State, was destroyed by fire.
It was learned that the area that houses the facility’s generator was damaged by the fire.
No one was hurt or killed as a result of the fire since it was immediately put out by firefighters from the Federal and state fire stations before it could spread to other areas.
Benjamin Hundeyin, the Public Relations Officer for the Lagos State Police, confirmed the occurrence.
In a text sent to our correspondent, he said “The fire at Marina started from the generator of the Blue Rail Mass Transit.”
He noted that the police patrol teams and the Fire Service were on ground to control the crowd and put out the fire respectively.
“People are urged to go about their lawful duties and not panic as the situation is under control,” Hundeyin added
