In a bid to quash recent rumors, the Jaji Unity Group, a political organization dedicated to advancing the ambition of Hon. Aminu Jaji to become the Speaker of the House of Representatives, has refuted claims that the lawmaker declined an invitation to meet with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The Zamfara-born politician enjoys a longstanding and loyal relationship with President Tinubu that extends beyond the realm of House of Representatives politics.
On Wednesday night, Aminu Sani Jaji, along with other aspirants for the speakership position, convened at the Presidential Villa in Abuja to address the ongoing leadership tussle within the national assembly. Reports suggest that President Tinubu emphasized the importance of adhering to the party’s zoning arrangement for leadership roles in the Senate and House of Representatives, while making it clear that he would not endorse any specific candidate.

Sanni Mustapha, the convener of the Jaji Unity Group, emphasized in a statement released on Thursday that Hon. Jaji has played a significant role in President Tinubu’s electoral success and would never engage in actions that undermine the leader’s authority. Mustapha stated, “Our supporters should kindly disregard such insinuation that he deliberately shunned the meeting. Hon. Jaji and Asiwaju have been close for a long time.”
As the Director of Contact and Mobilization for the APC Presidential Campaign Council in the North West, Jaji worked tirelessly to ensure the party’s victory in the polls. The Jaji Unity Group accused those spreading the rumors of attempting to blackmail the lawmaker out of the race, pointing out that a photograph of Jaji alongside other aspirants and President Tinubu had already been widely circulated.
The group firmly asserted that the strong bond between Jaji and Tinubu cannot be fractured, advising detractors to focus their attention elsewhere. “Nothing can break the well-cemented relationship between the two ‘jolly friends,'” the statement concluded.
