The Nigeria Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), the Ibadan Zonal Command has arrested thirty-seven suspected internet fraudsters in Ibadan, Oyo State.
The suspects were apprehended at Ologolo Estate and Omi-ado areas of Ibadan.
Among the suspects are: Ibrahim Adewale Adegoke, Echeta Chidi Oluwabe, Adeyinka Oladaide Monsuru, and Adedeji Mojeed Adewusi. Items recovered from the suspects include seven exotic cars, one motorcycle, several mobile phones, and laptops, among others.
Wilson Uwujaren, the commission spokesman said, the suspects will be charged to court once investigations are concluded. The arrests are part of the EFCC’s ongoing efforts to clamp down on internet fraud and cybercrime in Nigeria.
He further stated that the EFCC will not relent in its efforts to rid the country of economic and financial crimes. He urged Nigerians to support the EFCC by providing credible information that could lead to the arrest of more fraudsters.
