The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Osun State Command, under the leadership of CC Agboola Sunday, has called on Muslim faithful across the country to exercise caution, embrace moderation, and celebrate responsibly within the confines of the law during the forthcoming Eid-el-Kabir.
Commandant Agboola, while addressing officers and men at the state command, announced that a total of 1,510 personnel had been strategically deployed from various units, including the Special Female Squad, Swift Action Response, Anti-Vandalism Unit, Armed Squad, and Intelligence and Surveillance Unit. These personnel have been assigned to both overt and covert operations to ensure a safe and peaceful celebration. He also emphasized the need for the NSCDC to collaborate effectively with other sister agencies in the state, fostering a seamless and coordinated security approach.
To ensure the security and well-being of the public, Commandant Agboola revealed that patrol teams would be deployed across the state, with personnel assigned to secure praying grounds, recreation centers, malls, marketplaces, critical national assets, and other public areas. These measures are intended to provide comprehensive coverage before, during, and after the celebrations.
In an effort to bolster the effectiveness of these security measures, the Osun NSCDC boss urged members of the public to remain vigilant and promptly report any suspicious movements or individuals in their surroundings to the nearest security agency. He emphasized that maintaining security is the responsibility of everyone and encouraged citizens to actively participate in ensuring a safe environment for all.
Commandant Agboola took the opportunity to extend heartfelt greetings on behalf of the officers and men of the NSCDC Osun State Command to Muslim faithful as they celebrate this year’s Eid-el-Kabir. He urged them to utilize this auspicious period to offer prayers for peace, stability, and progress in the country.
