Oyo APC Congresses Results Are Authentic, State Congress Holds Today- National Secretariat Replies Oke

The Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has called on party members in Oyo State to discountenance a statement credited to the parry’s State Caretaker Committee Chairman, Chief Akin Oke that ward and local congresses results have been falsified.

A member of APC CECPC, Hon. Musiliu Olaide Akinremi, in a chat with journalists on Friday evening, stated that only the national secretariat of the party can determine authentic results of the congresses.

“The statement credited to Chief Akin Oke is to stoke tensions among our teeming members in Oyo State. I want to confirm that the results handed-over to the State Caretaker Chairman of Oyo APC at the Friday Stakeholders meeting held at Oke-Ado state secretariat are authentic. Nobody tampered with the outcomes of the congresses”.

“The ward and local congress committees submitted results to the National Secretariat. After appeal committees for both ward and local congresses completed their assignments, APC CECPC ratified the results.

“There is no going back on the State Congress of Oyo APC. Saturday, October 30th 2021 remains sacrosanct”

“Gambo-led 7-man State Congress Committee has been mandated by the APC CECPC to go ahead with the exercise slated for October 30th at Obafemi Awolowo Stadium Ibadan” said Akinremi.
